Weirdly Wonderful Cash-flow

Personalized cash-flow and budgeting strategy for witchy and weird business owners. So you can go from *blank stare* to feeling weirdly wonderful about your business finances.

(It’s like Profit First, but completely customized for you and your business - and all without the eleventy million checking accounts!)

this is for you if…

You’ve wanted to try Profit First, but aren’t sure how to actually implement it OR you’ve tried it, and while you like the concept, it felt like it never quite worked how you thought it should.

You bring in good money each month, but you’re not real clear on where all that money is actually going.

You’re a service-based business owner in the “messy middle” stage of your business journey: you’re able to cover your expenses each month, but you’re not yet at “money is no object”.

You want to make sure you’re being purposeful with your investments, spending, and saving - making sure your money is being put to its best use to help you reach your goals while still staying true to your values.

You’ve had your eye on a membership, mastermind, or program, but legitimately aren’t sure if you can afford it. Like, you might actually be able to - you honestly don’t know! Which means 1. You stick it on your credit card but feel anxious about it. OR 2. You simply don’t invest and miss out on the benefits of said investment.

You believe that Black lives matter. That Jewish, Asian, and refugee lives matter (Refugees from ALL countries, not just white European ones.). That trans lives matter and people with fat bodies matter.

Weirdly Wonderful Cash-Flow is for you if you want to feel confident, secure, and measurably less anxious about where your money is coming from, where it’s going, and what you can afford in your business.

How it works:

DREAM. We form a shared vision of your financial goals. Whether it’s replacing (or exceeding!) a full-time income or funding an annual grand adventure, you have financial goals for your business. We’ll zero in on those goals and what they mean to YOU. Because what’s important to your weird soul isn’t necessarily what’s important to someone else.

1.

PLAN. We put together a budget (aka “cash flow plan!”) for your business. We do a “deep dive” into your current income and expenses, and put together a budget for your today business, as well as projections for when you grow. We get crystal clear on where your money is coming from and where it’s going. This is where the swamp murk starts to fade and things really start to come into focus.

2.

EXECUTE. We put the budget into action, changing and updating as necessary. Using my fave budgeting software, YNAB, we implement your budget, and you’ll get all kinds of friendly with your cash flow. This is where the rubber meets the road, and we get up close and personal with how money flows in and out of your business. In the BEST way possible, there’s no hiding. It may sound scary at first, but it’s super empowering.

3.

what’s included:

👉🏻 A Customized budget for your business - Well, 3 actually!! Together we plan out “good, better, best” scenarios, so you know how your budget will grow as your business grows.

👉🏻 6 Consulting sessions - two each month for 3 months. We do a 90-minute “deep dive” for our first session where we lay the groundwork and create the first draft of your budget (aka: a cash-flow plan!). We then follow it with five 30- to 45-minute sessions. Each time we meet, we:

  • Go over your budget and update it as necessary

  • Talk about things that have come up since the previous session

  • Plan for future investments and scenarios.

👉🏻 Bonus Check-In Session - a 30-minute session 1 - 2 months after our 3-month engagement “officially” ends. To tie up any loose ends and celebrate all your wins.

👉🏻A one-year subscription and hands-on training in my favorite budgeting tool, YNAB. Yes, it’s designed for personal finance, but that doesn’t matter. It’s perfect for our purposes, giving you all the flexibility you need without the bells and whistles you don’t. (Yup, you read that right - included in Weirdly Wonderful Cash-Flow is a one-year subscription to YNAB, a $100 value. Because I want to make sure you’re starting out on the right foot. You may even find yourself using it for your personal finances as well!)

👉🏻 Email support between sessions If something comes up between sessions, you can email me!

👉🏻 A crystal clear understanding of your business’s cash flow. No more fuzzy numbers, wondering where all your money is going, or hoarding funds because you’re not sure if you can afford an investment. You’ll feel, if I may, “weirdly wonderful” about your business finances.

the investment:

Option 1: 1 payment of $1200

Option 2: 3 payments of $400

A note about ynab:

YNAB (or, You Need a Budget) is money management software that works on the “envelope budgeting” system. I love it to pieces and use it for both my business and personal finances. It’s the absolute best system I’ve found for really and truly understanding my cash flow and allowing me to make spending decisions with confidence.

Fully implementing Weirdly Wonderful does require you to consistently use the software. This isn’t a “set it and forget it” system. It means spending 10 - 15 minutes once or twice a month updating the software and getting intimate with your cash flow. On the one hand, yeah, that’s 10 - 15 minutes you could be doing something else with. On the other hand, you’ll be fully confident in your business cash flow, know how much you can pay yourself each month, that you’ve set aside funds for taxes, and whether or not you can safely afford that mastermind. I’d personally say that’s a pretty good trade-off!

profit first:

❌Based on general percentages, which may not actually make sense for your business or your goals.

❌Requires at least 5 separate bank accounts.

❌Requires transferring funds between bank accounts.

weirdly wonderful

✅ Customized to your business, specifically for your goals and needs.

✅ No need to open new bank accounts. (Especially helpful if your current bank doesn’t allow more than one bank account per business!)

✅ Everything is contained in YNAB, which allows for virtual “buckets” - no transferring money between accounts necessary!

  • Good question! At this time, Weirdly Wonderful Cash-Flow is just for service-based businesses. I’m figuring out how to best adapt it to physical product businesses, but I’m not quite there yet!

  • Short answer: possibly. Longer answer: YNAB isn’t official accounting software and doesn’t do some of the important things accounting software does. Does maintaining both YNAB and official bookkeeping software duplicate some efforts? Yes, for sure. If you’re interested in streamlining, we can ABSOLUTELY chat about if it could work for you to combine them.

  • Bookkeepers and accountants are amazing! I do bookkeeping and work with an accountant for my own taxes. AND. What they are doing is VERY different from budgeting / cash flow planning. Bottom line: bookkeeping tracks what already happened. Taxes are for the IRS. Cash flow planning is for YOU and is instrumental for the future. I wrote a blog post that goes into more detail.

  • It’s probably not a great fit for you right now. Weirdly Wonderful Cash Flow is most helpful when your income comfortably covers your expenses and you’re looking to use that surplus in ways that make the most sense for you. If there’s no surplus, there’s really not much planning we can do. Once you’re a bit further along in your journey, definitely circle back around!

  • First off, congrats! It’s super exciting that you’re at the stage where it makes sense to do full-on tax planning. I, however, am not the person to help you with that! While we do briefly cover setting aside funds for taxes in Weirdly Wonderful, I’m not a CPA and am not qualified to do in-depth tax planning. If that’s what you’re looking for, I can absolutely refer to you some amazing people.
